On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, friends, supporters, and preservation advocates gathered at The Woman’s Club of Nashville to celebrate the launch of Preserve Nashville, a new strategic alliance uniting the strengths of the Preservation Society of Nashville and Historic Nashville, Inc.

The evening marked more than the introduction of a new name. It celebrated the coming together of two nonprofit organizations with a shared commitment to protecting, stewarding, and championing Nashville’s historic places. Through advocacy, education, and easement stewardship, Preserve Nashville begins its work with a forward-looking mission: to protect the past and shape the future.

Hosted at the historic Woman’s Club of Nashville on Hillsboro Pike, the launch celebration reflected the energy and purpose behind this new chapter: a community united by a love for Nashville’s historic character and a belief that preservation is essential to the city’s future.

Throughout the reception, guests had the opportunity to reconnect, share stories, and look ahead to the work Preserve Nashville will lead in the years to come. Remarks were given by Preserve Nashville CEO David Greider, recent HNI President Ellen Dement-Hurd, PSN co-founders Kelleigh Bannen and Colson Horton, and Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell. The event offered a meaningful moment to recognize the legacy of both founding organizations while embracing the expanded possibilities of working together under one unified banner.

As Nashville continues to grow and change, Preserve Nashville will serve as a dedicated advocate for the places that tell the city’s story. By combining experience, relationships, and resources, the organization is positioned to support preservation efforts across neighborhoods, engage the public through education, and safeguard significant properties through easement stewardship.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special launch celebration and to all who have supported the work that made this new alliance possible. We are grateful to be moving forward with such a passionate community of preservation advocates.

Together, we will protect the past and shape the future.
